While an external microphone is included, the machine also features a built-in condenser microphone with switchable hi/low microphone sensitivity, erase-protect lock, a built-in dynamic speaker, and a .125-inch minijack for stereo headphone (headphones not included).
The recorder also offers a 3V DC jack for use with an appropriate AC/DC converter (not included) or car cigarette lighter adapter (also not included).
The 35373 is 4.75 inches tall by 2.5 inches wide.

This review is from: GE 35373 Microcassette Recorder (Office Product) This microcassette recorder is just the right size to fit in a sportcoat inner pocket. With the external microphone jack you can clip a super sensitive mic on the pocket lip. With no auto-stop, there is no "pop" at the end of a tape, but you must turn the tape over to record on the other side. Operation is very easy, even in a jacket pocket, because the record button is easy to find and press, as when placing or removing a paper from the same pocket. So much for descrete recording. Fast forward or rewind is easy because of a separate slide switch. Pickup is good within 15 feet, fair beyond, with the internal and external mic provided. Selectable mic record level for close and distant recording. Specialized mics are available. Overall, a very well designed recorder for varied applications. Be aware of descrete recording laws in your state. THE MODEL I HAVE IS THE 35375. (VERY SIMILAR) I HAVE USED THIS PRODUCT FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS AND AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE PERFORMANCE. THE CONTROLS ARE EXTREMELY EASY TO ACCESS AND USE AND THE AUTOMATIC VOICE FEATURE WORKS WELL. THE BATTERY LIFE, ALTHOUGH I HAVE NOT USED IT THAT LONG, SEEMS TO BE VERY GOOD. (I DON'T HAVE THE OPTIONAL AC ADAPTER). THE ONE THING THAT I MISS IS A COUNTER BUT THE QUICK CUE FEATURE HELPS. I use it for taking the minutes at my weekly writers' group and for various classes. Here's my rundown of its performance features:Inexpensive What would I change if I could? I wish it had an auto-stop feature while recording. If you have a large group to record where everyone is giving input, it's not great at recording voices from further than five or six feet away. These are only minor inconveniences. For the money, the GE 35373 is a good investment. |
