A pocket-sized (3" x 5") flip notepad with a protective blue cover makes it convenient for quick and easy note taking on the spot. It's small size and light weight make it perfect for capturing important details, quick notes, sketches, and more. This product requires the smartpen firmware version 1.5 or later. Dock your Echo or Pulse smartpen to download & install the latest software. All Livescribe smartpens only works with Livescribe dot paper. Note: Your smartpen can carry up to 4 flip notepads at the same time (No. 1-4). When you're done using a flip notepad, you can archive it with Livescribe Desktop and start a new one. Please do not use two identically numbered flip notepads at the same time because the Pulse smartpen will recognize any identically numbered flip notepad as the same flip notepad.

It's not obvious, but the card in the top flap is reversable, and there is a calculator in the back. I tend to use that more than the controls. Some of the controls on the back are printed on the bottom of each card, specifically:
Nav Plus
Paper Replay
Jump forward and back

The controls on the card that are not on the bottom of each card are:
Playback speed
Bookmark
Jump to a specific location
Date
Time
Battery
Storage
Volume.

There are three major negatives to this pad:

1- There is no storage pouch for cards you've already written on. Granted, with the technology that's not necessarily needed, but it would have been nice.
2- There are no dots on the back of the sheet. Wasteful and inconvenient.
