I have had the DM-4 for over a year and it is a very good digital recorder. I had been avoiding buying a fully digital recorder for years because they just didn't have the capacity that I required. I had previously used tape recorders or mini-disc recorders because you could pop in new tapes or discs for additional capacity. I disliked mini-discs because they seemed to fail often unless you bought the expensive high end ones. Mini-discs and micro-cassettes once available at multiple brick and motor stores have become scarce and less easy to find (yes you can always find these online, but if you need them now then it is a problem).

I like the 8GB internal capacity plus the fact that you can add up to a 16GB micro-SD card for additional capacity. Or use Olympus Sonority software to transfer the recordings to your computer.
