Comment: Impresseive little machine in many ways.... my only complaint it the playback on it on the speakers or the ear jack in not loud enough. I called Olympus and they said this does not have large speakers. In less then quite room... let's say a classroom where there is some talking for instance, it would be hard to hear the playback clearly! This may have been a design problem form the get go!

I have an Olympus from the VN series... 3600... it plays back twice as loud.
