Digital Pocket Memo 9370 Digital Mobile Dictation Device

For 13 months I was quite pleased with this ditital recorder. Then for no apparent reason it wouldn't power up. It happens. I'd hoped for some guidance from tech support. All I could get was direction to send it to the US address. The charge? $25 to open the box and $45 per hour to look at it. I will never buy another Philips product not because of the product (which for me was a bust) but because they had nothing to suggest to trouble shoot the problem - except send money and trust them with no guarantees.
