I run a club and use this to make sure we're not exceeding noise levels in our zoning area on nights with DJs or bands. Its small, light weight, portable, and so far has been accurate. It's not hard to use- this is the first one I've owned. It's handy to have and didn't cost much.

For as inexpensive as this product is you would think that it would be feature-limited. You'd be incorrect, however. This SPL meter easily keeps up with the bigger and more expensive toys we have. My only complaint is that its upper register is only ~105db. But at that level you should know it's too loud!

Seems to work well however if you have no idea about sound waves etc and just want to see how loud your exhaust is to be legal the instructions are basic, and no explanation as to which setting you should use for my needs for it. They are in broken English due to being written in China. It came with no screw for the battery cover so have to use tape. Not good quality control. I cannot tell how accurate it is until I get black flagged at the race track, If I do not, its accurate, if I do its not!!! It does say its for Musicians and sound professionals though, so guess its to be expected.
I am sure all above is the same for all these meters hence my overal 4 due to screw missing.
