This review is from: Roland Edirol R-09HR High-Resolution WAVE/MP3 Recorder (Electronics) I am so very pleased with this device. I have the Version 2 model, which I understand is the same thing except for the updated OS that you can download from Rolland's site. Anyway, this unit is total quality; so many recording format options; ease of use; terrific fidelity and pickup sensitivity (mono and stereo); and more. I carry it everywhere and have had so many occasions to use it. And it uses just two regular AA batteries (I carry a spare set) with decent results before having to change out the batteries.
Just a few minor irks: - It takes about 12 seconds or so to `boot-up,' but that's no big deal, really. - When you connect to a computer to upload your data (using the supplied USB cable) everything is fine, i.e, you see the mounted disk and just drag and drop the files onto your desktop, but when you `eject' the mounted disk the Edirol screen still shows that you are transferring data. Only reason I give this thing a four out of five is because I'm still waiting for a recorder that lets you type in the file names as you're recording. Would be a lot easier if I could enter notes right away instead of waiting til I upload the files. I usually end up blowing off the labeling, and then, like three months later, or whenever I'm listening to the recordings, I have to dig back in my notes and it's a pain. But that's such a small thing, and any recorder has that problem. Really, that's just about my own procrastination. Anyhow, great recorder, great sound. Good battery life, easy to use. VERY easy to use. Fits in pocket. You can adjust the sensitivity. Functional, and makes high-quality recordings. And it's small, so I can use it all the time, instead of the little...Read more |
