I don't know what "uncomfortable and no bass" was talking about...must've either been using another model or the sound source was crappy to begin with, but I have been using these for 4 years and they are fantastic. I've used them mainly for my portable Sharp MiniDisc player and my new portable Sony CD player, and they have an incredibly impressive dynamic range. From crisp highs to atmospheric mids and down to some DEEP BASS, these are awesome. Seriously, I barely ever use the "mega bass" function on my CD player because the bass response is almost too strong. Trust me, that other reviewer has absolutely no idea what he/she is talking about. Maybe they got a defective unit, but I am VERY picky about sound, and these are superb earphones.

The G72LP headphones are really nice. I was impressed with the sound and the bass. Additionally, I believe these are the only Sony "street style" behind-the-back headphones that fold up. When it's folded up, it's no larger than a tennis ball.The absolutely WORST thing about these is the replacement policy for the ear pads. I bought mine a few years ago, and the ear pads have gotten quite worn out and actually a bit torn. The replacements for these flimsy little pieces of foam cost over [$$$]!! That's just absolutely ridiculous and is a sure sign Sony just wants you to buy a new pair of headphones. ... At a cost of that much, my G72s are sitting on my desk, unused for the last several months.

THESE HEADPHONES ARE ONE OF THE BEST I'VE HEARD AT ANY PRICE. HIGHS ARE SMOOTH AND BRIGHT, BUT NOT HARSH AND BASS IS LOW AND CLEAN. THEY FIT LIKE A GLOVE AND ARE VERY COMFORTABLE EVEN AFTER WEARING FOR HOURS AT A TIME. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE HEADPHONES FOR GREAT SOUND AND PORTABILITY.
